Further to the facilities mentioned on the page 'about Villacana' just outside of the 'community' you will find
the village of Cancelada. This village is accessed by the crossing the road via a foot bridge.
In Cancelada you will find banks with ATMs, a Pharmacy, a Hotel and a number of restaurants (both near to the main road
and at the top of the village). There are also a couple of typically Spanish bars and a good bread/cake shop.
It is quite popular for the early risers in holiday parties to get up and walk to this bread shop, stopping for early morning
coffee in the village and then to take home bread and cakes for breakfast and beyond!
In the other direction lies the beach. Villacana has its very own beach bar/restaurant but if you fancy a stroll
along the sea shore then you can bear right for about 600m you will find the 'Heaven' beach bar - rustic - but a great
place for lunch and or a beer.
A left turn on the beach will eventually bring you to the Antigua Bar, this is about 850m from Villacana. The
first 300m must be walked along the beach and then you can pick up a landscaped footpath just outside the large hotel there. This
bar is open for breakfast and for food until about 6pm - a great choice and lovely location.
Beach bars by there very nature come and go and so there may well be a different choice available by the time
you get to Villacana - usually these bars will close for some period over winter - a little investigation will soon help
you get your bearings.
